How to get there
 

Palma's old Palace (Palácio Velho de Palma), is situated in the small age old village of Palma, half an hour south of Lisbon.

65 Km south of  Lisboa

15 Km north of Alcácer do Sal

36 Km from Setúbal

240 Km north of Faro (Algarve)

From  the city of Lisboa

 

By motorway (A2 or A12);

1.        Cross the Tejo river either by the Vasco da Gama (A12) or 25 de Abril (A2) bridges,

2.        Follow the motorway south, signed “Algarve”.

3.        Exit the motorway after aprox. 50 kms signed “Pegões” and “Marateca”.

4.        Follow the signs towards “Algarve / Sul”.

5.        After 1 km filter right under the road, following signs for “Alcácer do Sal / Sul / Algarve”.

6.       Carry on for 13 kms until you reach Palma.

7.       The Palace is situated on the left hand side of the road, after an old Church, which usually has a Stork’s nest on the tower.

8.    This part of the road is dangerous so DON’T TURN LEFT into the Palace, but rather   turn right into a side road, then turn around and then cross the road safely.

From  Alcácer do Sal

By normal road (IC1 / N5);

  

 

 

1.        Go north from the main roundabout in Alcácer towards Lisboa.

2.        Don’t take any signs for the motorway.

3.        After about 15 kms you will find Palma Palace on your right hand side.

4.        Turn right as in the Picture and Palma Palaceis situated after some concrete grain silos.

5.        Come off the main road as if you were going to the silos, but leave them on your right as Palace.

Thank you for your interest, please drive carefully and we are very sorry for the fact that 20 or 30 meters in between the main road and our road, are still to be paved by the portuguese authorities. Apparently, it will be done before 2011.
